Omodele Adebayo Awokoya Esq. is head of Chambers, Principal Advocate and Managing Partner. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1981 after completing undergraduate law studies at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria and successfully completing the Council of Legal Education's one year Nigerian Law School training and examinations.
'Dele's work experience as a Barrister commenced as State Counsel/Public Prosecutor (crime) in the department of Public Prosecution of the Ministry of Justice of Cross River State of Nigeria in 1981-1982 during the one year mandatory National Youth Service. Thereafter he worked as Advocate in the Chambers of Chief Gani Fawehinmi where he gained considerable experience and honed his skills in advocacy in all the courts of initial jurisdiction and the appellate courts. In the past 23 years of practice in Awokoya, Awokoya & Co, the firm has grown to be recognised as both competent and reliable litigation practice and Dele Awokoya in particular in perceived by clients as impassioned and possessing of commendable presentation skills combined with a high degree of professionalism.
Mrs Iyabo Arinola Awokoya is the second Partner. She holds both Bachelor of Law (LL.B) and a Masters of Law (LL.M) degrees from the University of Ife, (1981) and University of Lagos (1985) respectively. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1982 and began a career as an Advocate in the Ministry of Justice of Oyo State of Nigeria (1982-1983). Thereafter she worked as Advocate in the firm of Chief Gani Fawehinmi (1983-1984), Robert Clarke & Co/Clarke, Paiko and Co (1985-1987) and then co-founded the firm of Awokoya, Awokoya & Co in 1988. She was a compulsive advocate for 10 years thereafter.
Mrs Awokoya's present contribution to the Practice is in Solicitors work mainly as she has turned her skills into Management consulting after working as a consultant in the past 10 years as a member of a consulting firm (Sages Consult Limited) which firm consults for multilateral institutions and Government Ministries and Agencies.
Ms Jumoke Josephine Sawyerr was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004 after completing under-graduate Law degree at the Lagos State University, in 2003 and attending the Nigerian Law School at Bwari, Abuja and competing the Council of Legal Education's training in 2004. She served the mandatory National Youth Service as a corp member in Kaduna State of Nigeria in 2004-2005
Jumoke has a single minded purpose towards litigation which is client centred and in line with the firm's main principle for successful litigation which is that most cases are successful or not based on the strength of the pleadings filed in court. She is a compulsive researcher of case law which is a useful skill in joinder of issues in litigation. Jumoke joined the firm of Awokoya, Awokoya & Co in 2006 mainly because she wanted to pursue a career grounded in advocacy.
Ayodeji Henry Fasusi Esq. attended the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Ondo State and qualified with an LL.B degree in 2005. He attended the Nigerian Law School, Bwari Abuja and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006. He served the mandatory National Youth Service in Yobe state in 2006-2007 and has worked as an advocate since then in the firm of Awokoya, Awokoya & Co.
Olufemi Babatunde Adeseluka Esq. obtained his LL.B degree from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State in 2006 and attended the Nigerian Law School, Bwari Abuja after which in 2007 he was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of Nigeria. Femi served the National Youth Service period in 2007-2008 and joined the firm of Awokoya, Awokoya & Co as its youngest Advocate in 2009.
